Today we noticed that the squash were eaten by some chickens. There were purple basil growing , even though we didn’t plant any. There  also were a bunch of seeds that were planted last gardening day. Those seeds were daikon, beets and carrots. Some of the plants were fertilized as well.

Today we went to the garden to take pictures.  The lemon grass is growing back and the eggplant is growing. There are less caterpillars and butterflies because we sprayed Neem oil on the plants so it would control the caterpillars. There are purple lilikoi growing in the garden. The taro is also growing very well.

There is a little problem with the garden, there are white butterflies all around. Our prediction is that since we didn’t spray any of our organic pesticide  all of our plants are being exposed to bugs and insects. That might even be the reason we have been finding cocoons and bits from different insects. The first group of Hawaiian Chili Peppers is starting to ripen.

Today in the garden the beats were out of the soil. You can either see half of the beat or see more than half.  It’s crazy how fast they grow! The garden is being invaded by white butterflies. It’s already a week so their cocoons will hatch sometime next week. We are currently looking over and under all of the plants to see if we can get rid of the cocoons.

Today the garden was doing great. In the far tomato patch, at the bottom the tomatoes are growing healthy and ripe. There are no problems so far. Everything is going well and how we planned for once.

In the garden the plants are drying out, they are  brown and dry.  One prediction is that it is just too hot here that the plants don’t get enough water. It’s winter so the plants might have even a harder time just growing and healing from the heat.
